DWB Group recently celebrated the close of its 32nd year in business at the bi-annual directors meeting at Skidby Mill, Hull. 2018 has seen turnover of its roof truss and Posi-joists increase by nearly 10% across all of our manufacturing sites. This, in combination with the latest year-end figures from the board, report that DWB Group is keeping up with its ambitious growth strategy.

John Daniels, Chairman at DWB Group, explains: “We’re pleased with our performance over the past 12 months, particularly our roof truss and Posi-joist departments that have seen significant growth throughout the UK.”

“This year we made further investment into plant and machinery adding three new MiTek single blade saws, two at Hull and one at Latchingdon, allowing us to greatly speed up the manufacturing process and provide additional capacity. This additional capacity has already allowed us to cut lead times and ensure that we remain competitive and responsive to our customer’s needs”.

“We are very encouraged by these results and they positively reflect our ongoing desire to further improve and refine our service to you in the coming months.”

Steve Pinner, Managing Director at DWB Boston adds “We’re incredibly pleased with our performance this year. Innovations in both the truss rafter and Posi-joist market have broadened the applications of both of our mainline goods, allowing timber engineered products to now be used in situations once thought impossible. We look forward to another year being tested by your complex designs and providing solutions for projects other manufacturers just can’t offer!”

In the last five years, DWB Group has invested heavily, with a further £125k spent in the year to increase the production capabilities of its dedicated factories throughout the UK. This investment has enabled DWB to speed up manufacturing of both its roof truss and Posi-joist products whilst maintaining excellent product consistency. To maintain its high service levels, DWB also delivers the majority of its products on its own fleet of vehicles.

At the spring board meetings, two Directors announced their impending retirements. Trevor Tween and John Binns, together they have accrued close to 100 years’ service within the industry including 22 years as Managing Director for Trevor at DWB Anglia and 32 years as Technical Director for John at DWB Roof Truss. Trevor will retire at the end of May 2018 and John at the end of January 2019. Both will be greatly missed especially for their wealth of knowledge in the truss industry. We wish them a long, happy and healthy retirement.

At the meeting, Andy Tween was appointed Managing Director of DWB Anglia Ltd and Philip Daniels Sales Director of DWB Roof Truss Ltd. Further announcements and appointments will be made at the autumn meeting as the group’s succession plans unfold.
